So I have been MIA for a couple days because I was traveling to visit my family. I found myself caving into habits of my childhood and eating everything in sight. A donut here and a ham sandwich there. Where’s the salad? Nope, no salad. My routine was shot, but I was okay with that. I was with my family and had an incredible time. I helped my mom move and I got to meet my new nephew. It was all about family and this made my many slip ups worth it.
On my way home from Pittsburgh my GPS took me through D.C., at 6:00pm. It was a nightmare! I’m a country girl who will visit a big city and even enjoy it, but put me in traffic in a big city by myself? I’m a hot mess. I made it through that journey and got home 8 1/2 hours later. It’s good to be home!
I woke up Tuesday morning feeling terrible. A fever set in and I had no appetite for anything. I was exhausted. If there is another word for exhausted lets put that here. On top of that I was severely dehydrated as well. I really didn’t take care of myself properly while I was away and my body made sure I knew it. I spent the entire day in bed sleeping off and on while I watched Grey’s Anatomy on Netflix and then I slept the entire night. Here I am this morning feeling a bit better and ready to jump back into things!
If I can offer any advice if you are planning on taking a trip, drink lots of water and get plenty of rest each night. Your body is the only one you have and it is important to take care of it.
