4 Steps to a Productive Morning

It has been a crazy week to say the least! Between teaching full time, exercising regularly (yea!), and trying to cook more regularly, I have been busy. There is only one day this week that I felt great about and that was Wednesday/Thursday morning. I established a routine and stuck to it. Doesn’t happen often for me but I finally found something that works. When I wake up in the morning I want to focus on me time. It is quite around the house and it gives me a chance to just drink coffee, make breakfast, and relax before I have to get ready for work. It is also a great feeling to wake up to a clean kitchen.

How can you establish a routine for yourself and create a calming atmosphere for the morning? Here are some tips!

Kitchen Clean-Up

Clean your dishes after dinner, run the dishwasher, and wipe the counters down at night. This sounds simple but how many of you have finished dinner and just don’t want to tackle the mess you created? That’s me all the time! Waking up to a clean kitchen creates positive energy to get the day started.

If you are a coffee drinker set your pot on auto and select a time for it to brew in the morning. I pick 7:10 a.m. I wake up at 7am and by the time I get to the kitchen the coffee is brewing and the house smells like coffee house. Who doesn’t love that smell?

Make breakfast and make it healthy. There is no better start to the day than creating a healthy meal to fuel your body for the beginning of the day.Reflection List.jpeg

Take 15 minutes to reflect and imagine how you want your day to go. Read a chapter of a book, make a do-to list, read a few bible verses. Whatever works for you and promotes relaxation. Do it.

It is surprising how much these four things can change a morning and motivate you into a productive day!

Have you tried these steps before? What is your routine?
